Students are invited to perform in a number of performances and productions which all help to enhance performance skills, alongside excellent technical ability.
Dance Design Theatre Arts has proved itself to be one of the best Schools in the country, selected to perform in events such as, 'The All England Dance Finals Gala Evening' in London's West End, the Barbara Sharples International Choreographic Award in Manchester and Kent Dance Challenge, as well as ITV's famous television show Britain's Got Talent and Sky 1's Got to Dance.
Dance Design Theatre Arts Students have also been selected to be apart the highly competitive England Dance Team. Representing our Country at the 2012 Dance World Cup in Austria, the 2013 Dance World Cup held in Brighton and then again in 2014 in The Algarve, Portugal; bringing home countless Gold, Silver & Bronze medals, as well as World Championship titles at each competition. A huge honour and achievment for our young Dancers.
From the age of 4 pupils may be invited by the Principal into the "DDTA Company." They then have the opportunity to represent DDTA at Festivals and Competitions throughout the year.
Dance Design Theatre Arts at All England Dance Festivals in the local area. If successful students may qualify for the Regional Finals, which are held in Stevenage, followed by the prestigious All England National finals, which are held in London's West End.
It is compulsory for all Company Dancers to take at least 2 Ballet classes & 2 Jazz classes a week. Those students wishing to go on to professional colleges should also be taking a minimum of 2 Ballet & 2 Jazz classes per week .
Musical Theatre must to be taken by "Company Dancers" who wish to compete in Song & Dance sections at Competitions, including groups.
It is compulsary for all Company Dancers to own a DDTA Tracksuit to wear when representing the School at Competitions. Please see order form below for details.
The students of Dance Design Theatre Arts participate in a biannual school show, held at The Hertford Theatre. Throughout the year, however, there are numerous opportunities for students to perform. These include, internal choreographic competitions, musical theatre productions & charity fundraisers events for our community.
We provide a number of professional workshops for DDTA students (9 years & above) & the general public. As numbers are limited, priority is always given to our own students.
